Palmer River Roadhouse
Located eighty kilometres north of Mount Carbine, one hundred and ten kilometres south-west of Cooktown and two hundred and eighteen north-west of Cairns in Kuku Yalanji country on the Mulligan Highway, Palmer River Roadhouse is the only refreshment and accommodation stop between Mount Carbine and Lakeland.
The roadhouse offers fuel, powered caravan and campsites, permanent tented sites, dining and barbecue facilities and restrooms. A museum contains artefacts and interpretive material about the Palmer River gold rush.
