Nathan Street (Townsville)
One of Townsviile's major arterial roads, Nathan Street connects the Charles N. Barton Bridge across the Ross River with Dalrymple Road, where it continues as Duckworth Street, marking the boundary between the suburbs of Aitkenvale and Cranbrook, Vincent and Heatley. Its intersection with Ross River Road probably represents the focal point of Townsville's second central business district.
Other significant intersections with Bergin Road, Arthur Street, Alfred Street, Charles Street and Fulham Road are also controlled by traffic lights, with an additional set of lights at Raynor Street carrying traffic out of K-Mart Plaza and allowing students to access Aitkenvale State School.
The section of Nathan Street between Charles Street and Dalrymple Road runs along one of the area's World War Ii-vintage airstrips.
