Bindal

According to Norman Tindale, the Bindal people (a.k.a. Bendalgubba, Nyawaygi) occupied around 2600 square kilometres of country around Ayr and the Burdekin River's outlet at Upstart Bay, extending northwards as far as Cape Cleveland and inland to the Leichhardt Range.

Their language seems to have been part of the Pama–Nyungan language family, but only a few confused word lists survive.
