The extinct Warrgamay language (a.k.a. Waragamai, Wargamay, Wargamaygan, Biyay, and Warakamai)spoken across the Herbert River area, Herbert Gorge, Lucinda Point Cardwell, Hinchinbrook Island and the adjacent mainland as far north as Cardwell was closely related to Dyirbal.
