The label Norman Tindale's Aboriginal Tribes of Australia applies to the Biri/Birri Gubba, placing them on 10,900 square kilometres along the Bowen River, extending north to its junction with the Burdekin; east to the Clarke Range, west to Leichhardt Range and south to Netherdale.
