Northward Bound

It's close to sixty years since my family moved North.

Given that time frame, one might expect the memory to have faded. In a way, it has.

However, thanks to Mister Google and a bit of digging, it's possible to confirm a few things.

For instance, we flew from Rockhampton to Townsville in August 1963. I'm reasonably sure it was on the weekend (memory).

This timetable suggests it was on a Saturday.

This timetable means we flew on the government-owned Trans Australia Airlines rather than their rival, Ansett ANA. At that time, Ansett didn't fly into or out of Rockhampton.

Other points of clarification appear in the footnotes of this first section of Recollection and Reconstruction with more detail in Reflection and Reminiscence.
