Cornelius Wytfliet
While little is known of his early life, after Flemish cartographer and geographer Cornelius Wytfliet (a.k.a. Cornelis van Wytfliet) graduated Licentiate in Laws from the University of Leuven he moved to Brussels and became secretary to the Council of Brabant. He died shortly after his Descriptionis Ptolemaicae Augmentum, which added new discoveries in the Americas to Ptolemy's description of the world, was published in 1597.
