Norman Barnett Tindale
Perth-born anthropologist, archaeologist, entomologist and ethnologist Norman Barnett Tindale (1900 – 1993) is best remembered for his work mapping Aboriginal Australia's various tribal groupings of at the time of European settlement which provided the starting point for the AIATSIS Map of Indigenous Australia (1996). His major work was Aboriginal Tribes of Australia: Their terrain, Environmental Controls, Distribution, Limits and Proper Names (1974) — the two items that priovide the starting point for my What Mob Is That?
