Peter Sutton
Melbourne-born author, social anthropologist and linguist Peter Sutton (born 1946) has worked since 1969 to record Aboriginal languages, promote Australian Aboriginal art, map Aboriginal cultural landscapes, and increase the general understanding of contemporary Aboriginal social structures and systems of land tenure.
The author or editor of thirteen books and numerous papers in those fields, he has assisted with over sixty land rights cases and worked as an Affiliate Professor in the University of Adelaide's School of Earth and Environmental Sciences and the Division of Anthropology at the South Australian Museum.
