D'Aguilar Range

From its northern extremity between Woodford and the head of Lake Somerset, the D'Aguilar Range runs roughly parallel to the coastline to Samford and metropolitan Brisbane's northwestern suburbs. The Taylor Range and Mount Coot-tha, directly west of Brisbane's CBD are sometimes considered an eastern spur of the D'Aguilar Range.
Numerous heavily forested ridges and gullies within the range are designated as state forest or national park, including
Sir Thomas Mitchell named the range after Sir George Charles d'Aguilar by in 1827.
