Taroom Shire

Located on the Leichhardt Highway to the north of Miles, wedged between Central Queensland and the Darling Downs, the Shire of Taroom existed as a local government area from 1879 — the Taroom Division was one of the 74 Divisions established under the Divisional Boards Act — until 2008, when it was split between the new Western Downs Region and the Banana Shire.
The Shire of Taroom included the following settlements and localities:

Division 2 (now part of the Western Downs Region):
