Badu (Mulgrave Island)
Situated just over 52 kilometres north of Thursday Island and around 854 kilometres north-northwest Cairns, in the Torres Strait Island Region's Near Western Islands, Badu (Mulgrave Island; Kala Lagaw Ya: Badhu) is roughly circular, around ten kilometres in diameter and with a surface area of 101 square kilometres is one of the region's larger islands. Wakaid, on the south-east coast, is the island's only town.
