Bramble Reef
Located about 36 kilometres east of Hinchinbrook Island, 36 kilometres north of Great Palm Island, 63 kilometres northeast of Ingham and 96 kilometres north of Townsville, Bramble Reef was the location where the brig Maria sank after she encountered a monsoon trough bearing down from the North on 24 February 1872.
