Mutee Head

Mutee Head, located nine kilometres west of Injinoo at the top of Cape York Peninsula, was the site of a World War Two radar station (RAAF 52 Radar Station). It is the only Queensland radar station with its tower and aerial intact in situ.

After the radar station closed in September 1945, the buildings were given to the people of Saibai Island, which had been flooded by a combination of wet season rainfall and king tides.
