Einasleigh Division

One of 74 divisions created under the Divisional Boards Act 1879, the Einasleigh Division covered a large, sparsely populated area once the initial flurry of mining activity in the area subsided. It became the Einasleigh Shire under the Local Authorities Act 1902, and was renamed the Shire of Etheridge on 15 March 1919.
