Located north of Lockhart River on Cape York Peninsula's east coast in Pakadji and Kuuku Yau Country within the boundaries of the Cook Shire, the locality of Iron Range includes the township of Portland Roads and the Cape Weymouth headland. Most of the locality is occupied by the Kutini Payamu National Park (formerly the Iron Range National Park).
