Thornton Beach
Located 16 kilometres northeast of Daintree Village, 34 kilometres north of Port Douglas and around 10 kilometres south-southwest of Cape Tribulation, in Kuku Yalanji Country within the Douglas Shire's boundaries, Thornton Beach was named as a town in February 1972.
Most of the locality's southern and western parts lie within the Daintree National Park.
The Cape Tribulation Road (a.k.a. the Bloomfield Track) passes through the township.
