Gumlu
Located in Yuru Country on the Bruce Highway and the North Coast railway line, 44 kilometres southeast of Ayr, 37 kilometres from Home Hill, and 58 kilometres west-northwest of Bowen, the locality of Gumlu includes the former rail terminus of Bobawaba and an abandoned station at Wakala.
Gumlu township is situated on the eastern boundary of the locality, along Molongle Creek. It takes its name from the railway station, named by the Queensland Railways Department in January 1912, probably a corruption of an Aboriginal word, gunyaloo, meaning rock wallaby.
