Bohle River

Named after the drover Henry Mackinnon Bohle, who overlanded a mob of cattle to Fanning Downs in 1863 and moved stock to Cleveland Bay in 1864 for John Melton Black, the Bohle River is located approximately ten kilometres west of Townsville. The river's headwaters rise in Hervey's Range and drain a 368 square kilometre catchment on the coastal plain west of Townsville before discharging into Halifax Bay near Bushland Beach.
