Mowbray National Park

Located around 8 kilometres southwest of Port Douglas and 55 kilometres northwest of Cairns in Djabugay Country within the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area and the Douglas Shire, Mowbray National Park contains two notable features — the pyramid-shaped Black Mountain and the historic Bump Track (the old Port Douglas to Thornborough road).

The park is often coupled with the neighbouring Kuranda National Park. Both are usually accessed via the 43-kilometre, mostly unsealed Black Mountain Road, which leaves the Kennedy Highway near Kuranda and links to the Mossman–Mount Molloy Road near Julatten, offering a rough and scenic alternative route to the Captain Cook Highway, suitable only for four-wheel-drive vehicles.
There are two long-distance walking tracks within the parks — the Bump Track, which lies entirely within Mowbray National Park, and the Twin Bridges track, which passes through sections of both. However, camping is not permitted
