Located east of Borneo, west of the Maluku Islands, north of Flores and Timor and south of Mindanao and the Sulu Archipelago, Sulawesi (a.k.a. Celebes) is the fourth largest island in Indonesia (behind Sumatra, Borneo and Papua) and the third most populous (after Java and Sumatra).
