Netherdale
Located at the foot of the Clarke Range in Yuwi country within the Mackay Regional Council's boundaries around thirty-seven kilometres west of Mirani and seventy-four west of Mackay, Netherdale is the westernmost locality in the Pioneer Valley. Like most of the valley, the land use in the vicinity is a mixture of sugar cane and grazing.
The road from Mackay to Eungella passes through the locality before it climbs the range. The railway west from Mackay was extended as far as Netherdale between 1911 and the line's closure in 1977.
Netherdale was within the Mirani Shire until it was amalgamated into the Mackay Region in 2008.
