Townsville Connection Road
The 9.9-kilometre Townsville Connection Road links the Flinders Highway in Stuart to North Townsville Road (Woolcock Street) in West End. Its initial incarnation (Stuart Drive, between the intersection with the Flinders Highway and Ross River) runs through Stuart and Wulguru, marking the boundary between Wulguru and Cluden before crossing the Bruce Highway and separating Idalia from Annandale. After crossing Ross River, it passes through Rosslea as Bowen Road, then morphs into Charters Towers Road after the Rising Sun intersection with Queens Road and Ross River Road,
As Charters Towers Road, it separates Hermit Park from Mysterton and Hyde Park and ends at the intersection with North Townsville Road (Woolcock Street). From there, Charters Towers Road continues across what was formerly known as The Causeway.
