An extensive look backwards needs a starting point; in this case, there's an obvious one.
The Hughes family moved North in August 1963. Eight years later, three-quarters of the family headed back South.
Various factors prompted my disinterest in following my parents and my younger brother. They're not all outlined here: material that's difficult to document has been consigned to Reflection and Reminiscence.
